Netmedia's Online Booking System for School Parents' Evenings

Our Parents' Evening booking System was released a month before Christmas and is already the latest "must have" on many a school's shopping list. The system allows parents to book their own appointments at the click of a button.

The idea is that each school is unique in the system and able to set up web pages giving details of forthcoming parents' evenings. This includes a list of the teachers, their departments and subjects and the times between which they are available to be seen. These times are divided in to slots of a duration determined by the school and each slot would be available for a parent to book online.

Schools can create groups of Parents' Evenings in the Administration Area each containing any number of different meetings, for example, a group called September Meetings could contain individual nights for 3rd Year, 4th Year and 5th Year. Data about parents and staff are uploaded to the system thus completing all the information needed for the system to function fully.

The system recognises Departments or Faculties, and then for each of these the individual members of staff and their subjects within them. On the Internet Parents can easily navigate to the correct Department and the appropriate member of staff, and then simply click on an available time slot to make their booking. Parents can add comments or questions, and these can then be responded to by the school.

At the end of the period allowed for booking, say a week, each teacher is able to print off a list of their appointments, giving them the names of the parent(s) attending and a note of all the comments made.

After the Parents' Evening the teachers can update the system with other comments and that data is included when the reports and statistics are prepared.
